Ruth: Welcome to the blog, Rita. Thanks for taking some time to visit with me and allow me to share you and RJ’s Internet Marketing Services with the readers. Tell us about RJ’s Internet Marketing Services.
Rita: RJ’s Internet Marketing Services offers Internet marketing services to entrepreneurs and small business owners. RJ’s has worked primarily with business and Christian leaders and coaches.
Ruth: All right Christian leaders and coaches, if you’re looking for some Internet marketing assistance then Rita is who you need to find. Rita, would you share what led you to consider a virtual profession and how you got started?
Rita: After receiving my B.S. in Marketing, I was unsuccessful in finding employment in the marketing industry. I did one year of retail management and soon discovered it wasn’t for me. Before I realized there was such a thing as a virtual assistant I decided to offer word processing services via the Internet from my home office. Needless to say, I discovered the virtual assistant industry while traversing the Internet highway.
During the eight years of offering word processing services, I was also providing Internet marketing services for clients and soon discovered my passion for Internet marketing. As a result, I changed my service offering to Internet marketing services only.
Ruth: It’s so rewarding to work in your passion and things just click when you find it. Along the way have you had a mentor or sponsor to support, guide, encourage and open doors for you?
Rita: Yes, I had a business coach who steered me in the right direction of switching from offering word processing services to Internet marketing services. Without her coaching, I wouldn’t have made the transition.
Ruth: If you could share a nugget of insight or bit of advice for someone considering a virtual career such as yours what would that be?
Rita: I have several. Don’t scrimp on marketing. If I had invested in marketing from the beginning, I would be where I want to be in business today instead of feeling as though I’m behind. In order to be a virtual professional, you have to be disciplined. You can’t be a quitter. You have to believe in yourself even when those around you may be naysayers. And lastly, work with a referred business coach.
Ruth: Yes, all sound advice that’s sure to be beneficial to the readers. Now tell me, what bits of advice would you give someone seeking a virtual professional such as yourself?
Rita: I would advise a prospective client to follow a VA of interest into their social media world. The client can learn a lot about a person’s personality based on their posts. I’ve come to learn through reading and research that who the person is represents their USP (unique selling proposition), not their skills, knowledge or experience. Many people have the same level of skills, but not the same personality. The VA of choice should have a “I care as much about your business success as you do” personality. A prospective client will be able to determine if the VA really possess this quality through their social networking.
Ruth: Very insightful. I hope clients take this information to heart. Rita, do you have any last thoughts or comments you’d like to share with our readers?
Rita: My faith in God keeps me in business even when it looks hopeless and in vain.
Ruth: Rita, you’ve been an inspiration. Thank you for talking with me.
